Little Pink Boxes For You and Me

Welcome! I’m Lindsay.

I grew up on recipes passed down from the women in my family, and as I got older, I started baking them in my own kitchen. My first mission was perfecting the staples — triple chocolate chip cookies, brownies, lemon bars. The passion grew, and before I knew it, I was catering birthdays, baby showers, industry mixers, and weddings for friends.

Other work kept me busy over the next decade. I managed a hair salon, I nannied. I recorded a couple albums, and eventually I became a full-time photographer. But my baked goods came along with me everywhere, as did their little pink boxes.

Then in March of 2020 — after a tornado passed through Nashville, Covid took out all foreseeable photoshoots, my laptop broke, and even the plumbing stopped working — I decided to bake some cookies about it. As it would turn out, I wasn’t the only one who needed comfort. People all over town asked if I would deliver, and within a week I’d baked nearly 1,000 of them.

Seeds were planted + watered throughout many seasons. At the most unexpected time, in the wildest way I can imagine, God finally said, “Go.” And I said, “Okay.” And Linden Bakeshop was born.

The following Summer, coming from a life-long devotion to feminist theology, I created The Workshop — a container for my spiritual guidance, workshops, and artistry. A space for knowing the Love that liberates and gets us through anything. Learning about faith that includes heart vision. Co-creating with the divine, especially with women — honoring those who gave me the power, strength, and wisdom that’s so often been undermined or left out of the cultural story. Now we reclaim it together, with baked goods as our communion.
